AB InBev Volume Misses Estimates as U.S. Consumption Drops

Anheuser-Busch InBev NV, the world’s biggest brewer, reported an unexpected decline in first-quarter volume as high unemployment led to a drop in U.S. sales.
The quantity of beer sold slid 0.4 percent, excluding the effect of acquisitions and disposals, the Leuven, Belgium-based company said today. The median estimate of 15 analysts surveyed by Bloomberg News was for a 1.4 percent increase.
