With political unrest seething in the Middle East and oil prices climbing, Exxon Mobil Corp. and Chevron Corp. have been two of the strongest stocks in the Dow Jones Industrial Average this year. Both have gained about 20 percent so far this year.
I like these energy companies’ stocks. Yet some of the other top performers in the Dow leave me cold, including top-ranked Caterpillar Inc., up 23 percent, and Boeing Co., up 22 percent.
