Safran Sees Significant Leap-X Engine Orders in Coming Weeks

Safran SA, Europe’s second-largest maker of aircraft motors, said it expects “very significant” orders in coming weeks for its planned Leap-X engine from airlines that are buying Airbus’s A320neo single-aisle.

“The A320neo is very well received by the market, and we’re very confident in being able to announce very significant orders for the Leap-X for A320neo in coming weeks,” Chief Executive Officer Jean-Paul Herteman said on a conference call with journalists today. Safran rose as much as 5.9 percent, the steepest gain in five months.
