Canada’s Chretien, Martin to Join Liberal Campaign, Globe Says

Jean Chretien and Paul Martin, former Canadian prime ministers, will join the national election campaign tour of Liberal Party leader Michael Ignatieff, the Globe and Mail reported on its website, without saying where it got the information.

Martin, the country’s leader from 2003 to 2006, will address a rally planned in Edmonton, Alberta, tonight, the newspaper said. Chretien, prime minister from 1993 to 2003, is scheduled to appear at an event Toronto in the week before the May 2 federal election.
