Saban Planning Bid for HIT Entertainment, Times of London Says

Saban Capital Group Chief Executive Officer Haim Saban is preparing to bid for HIT Entertainment, the owner of Thomas the Tank Engine and Bob the Builder, the Times of London reported.
Saban is expected to compete with Hasbro Inc., Mattel Inc., Walt Disney Co., and former Disney boss Michael Eisner in the 700 million-pound auction ($1.1 billion), the Times said. HIT Entertainment is being sold by Apax Partners LLP, its private equity owner, according to the report.
