Argentina’s Opposition Wins Governor Election in Chubut Province

Argentina’s Federal Peronist party, which split from President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner’s Peronist party, won yesterday’s election for governor in the Patagonian province of Chubut, according to the province’s website.

Martin Buzzi, supported by the current governor and possible presidential candidate Mario Das Neves, beat Carlos Eliceche of the ruling Victory Front coalition, the province reported.
