Sabine Pass, Freeport Have No LNG Cargoes for Re-Export

Cheniere Energy Inc. and Freeport LNG have no liquefied natural gas stored at their terminals on the U.S. Gulf Coast for re-export, executives with the companies said in phone interviews.

Cheniere’s Sabine Pass in Louisiana and Freeport LNG’s in Texas are authorized to export previously imported LNG cargoes. Gas prices rose yesterday on speculation that nuclear plants in Japan that were shut after the country’s worst earthquake on record would lead to increased LNG shipments.
