BNP Paribas Merges Sigma, Harewood to Create Theam Fund Unit

BNP Paribas SA, Europe’s largest bank, combined its Sigma and Harewood asset-management units to create Theam, a division specializing in exchange-traded funds and alternative management.
Theam will be headed by Gilles Guerin, Paris-based BNP Paribas said today in a statement. The unit has about 49 billion euros ($68.5 billion) under management and aims to double the amount over five years, the bank said.
