Academy Awards Draw 33.5 Million Viewers, Preliminary Data Show

The Academy Awards telecast last night attracted 33.5 million viewers, a decline from 2010, according to preliminary Nielsen Co. data released by the networks.

The show on Walt Disney’s ABC produced a rating of 24.6, signaling the program was seen in almost one-fourth of the U.S. TV households, the network said today in a statement.
