India’s Food-Inflation Rate Falls to Seven-Week Low

India’s food inflation slowed to a seven-week low as the country imported onions from Pakistan and more vegetable supplies arrived from the winter harvest.

An index measuring wholesale prices of agricultural products rose 13.07 percent in the week ended Jan. 29 from a year earlier, the commerce ministry said in a statement in New Delhi today. The gauge gained 17.05 percent the previous week.
