Weber Better as Deutsche Bank Chairman, Analysts Say

Bundesbank President Axel Weber would make a better chairman than chief executive officer of Deutsche Bank AG because he has political connections and lacks commercial banking experience, analysts said.
Weber, 53, plans to leave the German central bank this year, ruling himself out of the race to succeed Jean-Claude Trichet as head of the European Central Bank, according to a person who spoke to him yesterday. That sparked speculation in German media outlets including Die Welt that he might succeed Josef Ackermann as CEO of that country’s largest bank.
