Almost 3,000 Greek public transport workers won’t lose any pay after a strike yesterday, either because they called in sick or because they said they weren’t striking, Kathimerini reported, without citing anyone.
Of the 8,000 workers at various public-transit bodies, 2,206 took advantage of sick-day arrangements and 765 made use of a practice known as alternating, whereby workers say they won’t strike, knowing it will be impossible for them to work because colleagues are striking, the newspaper said.
