Soybeans Rise to 30-Month High, Corn Gains on Argentine Strike

Soybeans rose to a 30-month high and corn climbed as a strike by Argentina’s port workers halted grain vessels, increasing demand for supplies from the U.S., the world’s biggest exporter.

As many as 30 ships at Argentina’s main terminals have been blocked, a Chamber of Commerce official said. U.S. exporters reported sales of 120,000 metric tons of corn and 110,000 tons of soybeans to unknown destinations for delivery before Aug. 31, the Department of Agriculture said today.
