Brazil Real Strengthens to Four-Week High on Manufacturing Data

Brazil’s real rose to a four-week high after reports showed manufacturing increased in Brazil, China and the U.S., boosting demand for higher-yielding, emerging-market assets.

The real gained 0.2 percent to 1.6644 per dollar at 3 p.m. New York time, from 1.6670 yesterday. The currency touched 1.6598, the strongest level since Jan. 4.
