Belhassen Trabelsi, the brother-in-law of ousted Tunisian President Zine El Abidine Ben Ali, has filed a Canadian refugee claim, Foreign Affairs Minister Lawrence Cannon told the CBC television network.

“We understand that there has been a request” Cannon told the CBC, or Canadian Broadcasting Corp. He also said the family isn’t “welcome” in Canada.
