Osborne Says He May ‘Override’ Planned U.K. Fuel-Duty Increase

U.K. Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said he may “override” a planned increase in fuel tax to cushion motorists from rising oil prices.

His comments came as Business Secretary Vince Cable said introducing a fuel stabilizer, which reduces fuel duties when oil prices rise and increases them when oil falls, was “tricky” to implement.
