Australia ‘Only Months Away’ From Faster Inflation, Access Says

Australia faces accelerating inflation as shipments of coal and other resources to China drive growth, requiring the central bank to increase interest rates to contain prices, according to Canberra-based Access Economics.
“A trio of turning points suggest Australia is only a matter of months away from starting an upswing in inflation: demand is picking up, wage growth is doing the same, and import prices are starting to rise once more,” the research company said in a report released today.
