Wilbur Ross Says Irish EBS Deal May Close by March

EBS Building Society, a state-owned Irish lender, may be sold by March, WL Ross & Co. Chief Executive Officer Wilbur Ross said.
Ross is part of a group of investors including Dublin-based Cardinal Asset Management and Carlyle Group that submitted final bids for EBS on Jan. 17, four people with knowledge of the process said last week. Irish Life & Permanent Plc, Ireland’s largest life insurance company, is vying with Ross to take control of Dublin-based EBS.
