U.S. Must End Taiwan Arms Sales to Fix China Ties, General Says

U.S.-China military ties cannot progress unless America removes obstacles to building trust that include arms sales to Taiwan, said Yao Yunzhu, a major general in the People’s Liberation Army.

“As China’s most important core national interest, Taiwan is a constant issue for the two militaries,” General Yao, a senior researcher at the PLA’s Academy of Military Science, wrote in an editorial in the China Daily today.
