OAO Razgulay Group, a Russian grain and sugar producer, said it harvested 130,200 metric tons of rice last year.
The crop was “on the level of 2009,” spokeswoman Ekaterina Agibalova said today by phone. The average yield increased to 7.4 tons a hectare (2.5 acres) from 7.2 tons in 2009, the Moscow-based company said in a statement. The area it planted with rice made up 8.6 percent of Russia’s total acreage for the grain, and its harvest came to 11.5 percent of the national crop in 2010, Razgulay said.
