Goldman Sachs Group Inc. is moving French investment banking chief Jean Raby to Moscow to help oversee its Russian office as the country starts a new round of asset sales, said two people with direct knowledge of the transfer.

Raby will work alongside Christopher Barter, who became sole head of Goldman Sachs’s Russian office last year after co-country chief David Schwimmer returned to New York, said the people, who declined to be identified because the information hasn’t been made public. Raby will run investment banking and Barter will continue to oversee securities.
