German power for next-day delivery advanced to its highest price in two weeks as wind output and temperatures were forecast to drop.
Output from wind turbines, a less predictable source of energy than nuclear, coal or gas-fired generation, will decline tomorrow to about 3,000 megawatts from more than 7,000 megawatts today, Markedskraft Deutschland GmbH said in an e-mailed report. That’s less than the average 6,000 megawatts for this time of year. Wind produced 6.8 percent of Germany’s power in 2009.
