Rafael Nadal did not lose a game in a first-round Australian Open victory today against Brazil’s Marcos Daniel that ended late in the second set when Daniel quit the match.

The top-seeded Nadal was leading 6-0, 5-0, and had given up only 12 points in the match, when Daniel withdrew after 47 minutes because of an injury.
