Erdogan to Transfer Galatasaray Stadium Despite Boos, Sabah Says

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said the government would hand over control of a new stadium in Istanbul to soccer club Galatasaray even after he was booed at an opening ceremony, Sabah newspaper reported.

Erdogan said state-run constructor Toki had paid about 600 million liras ($387 million) for the construction of the Turk Telekom Arena and there were other costs associated with transport links to the new venue, the newspaper reported. He said a contract giving Galatasaray rights to use the site would be concluded, Sabah said.
