The Swiss franc slid the most in more than a week against the euro after a central bank policy maker said the recent appreciation versus the common European currency poses a threat to economic growth.

The currency declined against 14 of its 16 most actively traded counterparts monitored by Bloomberg, sliding most against the euro and Danish krone, as Swiss National Bank Vice President Thomas Jordan said gains by the franc pose an “extraordinary challenge” to some exporters. It tumbled against the euro for a fourth straight day after European Central Bank President Jean-Claude Trichet said inflation may become a risk in the euro region, spurring speculation about an interest-rate increase.
