Verizon Wireless, which will start selling Apple Inc.’s iPhone next month, may have to spend as much as $5 billion on subsidizing the device in the next 12 months, the New York Post reported.
That will be the cost to Verizon if it sells 15 million iPhones, based on the difference between the $199 customers will pay and the $620 Apple is charging Verizon, the newspaper said.
