Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne said he’ll push Britain’s biggest banks to follow state-controlled Royal Bank of Scotland Group Plc in awarding lower bonuses in 2011 and left open the possibility of further action.
“I’ve made it very clear to them that nothing is off the table,” Osborne told Parliament in London yesterday. “We are now in discussions to see if we can reach a settlement where the banks pay smaller bonuses than they otherwise would have done.”
