Baht Rises From 3-Month Low on Speculation of Exporter Demand

Thailand’s baht rose on speculation exporters sold dollars at a more favorable exchange rate following a four-day loss in the currency.
The baht earlier dropped to the lowest level in three months after overseas investors sold more shares than they bought yesterday, according to stock exchange data. The central bank will increase the benchmark interest rate by a quarter of a percentage point to 2.25 percent tomorrow, according to 18 of 21 economists surveyed by Bloomberg. Bank of Thailand Deputy Governor Atchana Waiquamdee said today that gains in consumer prices may quicken this year.
