Hungarian Watchdog Advises Banks to Swap Franc Loans to Euros

Hungary’s financial regulator PSZAF said banks should help consumers switch loans denominated in Swiss francs to euros because the common currency is less volatile against the forint.

“Switching loans to euros makes monthly installments more stable and predictable,” PSZAF said in a letter to banks posted on its website on Jan. 7.
