Green Plains Plans to Buy Otter Tail’s Minnesota Ethanol Plant

Green Plains Renewable Energy Inc., the fourth-largest U.S. ethanol company, said it plans to buy a distillery in Minnesota from Otter Tail Ag Enterprises LLC, to boost production of the fuel.
The company signed an asset purchase agreement with bankrupt Otter Tail Ag Enterprises, Omaha, Nebraska-based Green Plains said today in a statement. The transaction must go through a court-approved bankruptcy proceeding, it said.
