Canada’s dollar erased its drop versus its U.S. counterpart as a rebound in commodity prices overshadowed Europe’s sovereign-debt crisis.

The loonie, as Canada’s dollar is known, dropped earlier today as speculation Portugal may need a bailout drove risk aversion higher and global stocks lower, reducing the appeal of higher-yielding currencies.
