Franc Set For Most Weekly Gains in Six Years Versus Euro on Debt

The Swiss franc headed for its longest streak of weekly gains in more than six years against the euro as concern Europe’s debt crisis may worsen boosted demand for the relative safety of the Alpine nation’s assets.
The Swiss currency rose versus for a seventh consecutive week. The risk of holding Western European government debt exceeded that of emerging-market bonds for the first time on Jan. 4, according to trading in credit-default swaps. A U.S. payrolls report also showed the world’s biggest economy added fewer jobs than forecast last month.
