Green Exchange LLC, an emissions market owned by CME Group Inc.’s New York Mercantile Exchange, said it handled 33 percent more European Union carbon permits last month.
Green Exchange handled more than 14 million metric tons or futures for delivery of European Union emissions permits in the years through 2013. That’s 33 percent higher than the previous month and is the most since the exchange started, according to data it sent by e-mail.
