Italy’s stock market regulator last year alerted prosecutors to 107 cases of potential criminal breaches, almost double the number in 2009.

Consob warned of seven instances of potential market abuse and one of possible insider trading, the Rome-based regulator said in its annual report published today. The watchdog filed 99 alerts of other potential breaches that may be prosecuted, up from 53 in 2009.
