Twin bomb blasts rocked a rally of Nigeria’s ruling People’s Democratic Party in the oil-rich Niger River delta, leaving some people with serious injuries, the Guardian newspaper reported.
The bombs exploded in the Bayelsa state capital of Yenagoa at 3 p.m. yesterday as Beimo Spiff was approaching the podium to announce his candidacy for governor of the state in next year’s elections, the Lagos-based newspaper said.
