Google, Berlusconi’s Mondadori Sign Electronic-Book Accord

Google Inc. and Arnoldo Mondadori Editore SpA, the publisher controlled by Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, signed an accord to sell electronic books.
Titles put out by Mondadori, Italy’s biggest book publisher, will be available on the Google eBooks electronic-distribution service run by the owner of the world’s most popular search engine, the companies said today in a joint statement. Google eBooks will be available in Europe next year, they said.
