Benin’s Tourism Industry Earns $109 Million, Minister Says

Benin’s tourism industry earned 55 billion CFA francs ($112 million) this year, up from 48 billion CFA Francs in 2009, Tourism Minister Claudine Prudencio said.
Foreign visitors to the West African country rose to about 220,000 from 200,000, Prudencio told reporters today in the commercial capital, Cotonou. China plans to lend the country 10 billion CFA francs to promote tourism, she said.
