Kazakhs Win $97 Million From Ex-Minister, News Service Says

A Kazakh military court awarded the government 14.3 billion tenge ($97 million) in damages from a former top defense official and two others convicted on bribery charges related to arms procurement, Novosti-Kazakhstan said.
The Akmolinsky Garrison Court upheld a lawsuit filed by the Defense Ministry against ex-Deputy Defense Minister Kazhimurat Maermanov, who was sentenced in February to 11 years in prison for abuse of office and accepting bribes, the Astana-based news reported from the courtroom today.
