Syria Plans to Sell First Sovereign Debt Next Week, SANA Says

The Syrian government will sell sovereign debt for the first time on Dec. 13, the state-owned Syrian Arab News Agency said, citing comments from Finance Minister Mohammad al-Hussein.
The central bank on Dec. 13 will sell 1 billion Syrian pounds ($22 million) each of three-month and six-month bills to finance development projects, particularly in the electricity sector, al-Hussein said in an interview with SANA.
