Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan departed for Libya this morning, where he will be a guest of honor of Libyan leader Colonel Muammar Abu Minyar Al-Qaddafi and receive a human rights award.

Qaddafi invited Erdogan to the third annual African Union summit, Turkey’s state-run Anatolia news agency reported from Istanbul. Last week Erdogan received the “leader of the year” award from Lebanese Prime Minister Saad Hariri.
