Exxon Mobil Corp. flared gases in an unplanned event at its oil refinery in Torrance, California, according to a filing to the South Coast Air Quality Management District. The incident began at 7:32 p.m. local time yesterday, the report showed.
The refinery receives most of its crude from the San Joaquin Valley and produces about 10 percent of the gasoline refined in California, according to the company’s website.
