Taiwan’s dollar completed a weekly gain after the economy expanded more than forecast in the third quarter.

Gross domestic product rose 9.8 percent from a year earlier, the government reported after the close of trading yesterday. The median estimate of economists in a Bloomberg News survey was for growth of 8.3 percent. The currency, which was trading 1.3 percent higher before the end of today’s trading session, pared gains as the central bank bought the dollar, according to two traders familiar with the matter who declined to be identified.
