One-Tenth of Johannesburg Police Probed for Offenses, Star Says

More than 10 percent of police officers in Johannesburg have been investigated in the past year for bribery, theft, assault and other offenses, The Star reported, citing the police department’s annual report.
Of the 476 metro police officers who were probed, 19 were dismissed, the Johannesburg-based newspaper said. The city’s police department currently employs 4,326 staff, The Star said.
