Goldman’s Cooper Says Money Lust Not Enough to Join 2.2% Hired

Edith Cooper remembers the questions, almost a decade ago, from a Goldman Sachs Group Inc. client. He interrupted her and a female colleague, then co-heads of Goldman’s commodities unit for Europe, as their meeting began.

“He said, ‘You are two women running a business; how do you get people to listen to you?’” Cooper recalls. “Then he said, ‘You must manage men. Do they do what you say?’”
