Chile Rescue Worker Gonzalez Reaches Trapped Miners

Chile sent a first rescue worker down a shaft half a mile deep to 33 men trapped underground in what is the world’s longest mine rescue.
“I hope you bring us back the miners,” Chilean President Sebastian Pinera told Manuel Gonzalez as he entered the “Phoenix” capsule emblazoned with the red, white and blue of the Chilean flag. Moments later, Chilean television channels showed pictures of Gonzalez embracing the trapped miners.
