U.S. Stocks, Commodities Rise on Fed Bets; Corn Rallies

U.S. stocks rose and an index of commodities rallied to a two-year high amid growing optimism central banks will step in to support economies.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 Index climbed less than 0.1 percent to 1,165.32 at 4 p.m. in New York, its highest close since May 12. The Stoxx Europe 600 Index closed up 0.4 percent. The S&P GSCI index of 24 raw materials increased 0.2 to the highest level since October 2008 as corn and soybeans rallied on concern production will trail demand.
