Japanese Prime Minister Naoto Kan’s approval rating for his administration rose 2 percentage points to 59 percent after he reshuffled his Cabinet, Asahi newspaper reported, citing its own survey.
The Cabinet’s disapproval rating was 25 percent, little changed from 24 percent, according to the poll conducted on Sept. 18 and 19, the Asahi said, without saying how many people were questioned or providing a margin of error. The previous survey was conducted on Sept. 14 and 15 after the presidential election for the ruling Democratic Party of Japan, the paper said.
