Colombian Peso Gains to Two-Year High on Surge in China Output

Colombia’s peso rose to a two-year high after a surge in China’s industrial output boosted appetite for higher-yielding, emerging-market assets.
The currency advanced 0.4 percent to 1,791.10 per dollar at 4:07 p.m. New York time, from 1,798.85 on Sept. 10. The peso touched 1,790.10, the strongest level since Aug. 8, 2008. The currency has jumped 14.1 percent this year, the best performance among all currencies tracked by Bloomberg.
