The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s recent reduced corn-production estimate has undermined some investor confidence in its forecasting, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing traders and analysts.

The agency cited smaller-than-expected yields earlier this month in its prediction, sending corn prices up 6 percent, the newspaper said.
