Billionaire George Soros’s company bought a stake of about 4 percent in the Bombay Stock Exchange, Asia’s oldest bourse, according to three people familiar with the transaction.

The stake was acquired by a fund controlled by Soros Fund Management LLC, which oversees $25 billion, said the people, who declined to be identified because the agreement was private.
